Jewelry with Originality Born in New York City, Linda Rzeznik spent her early years annoying her friends and family with a steady flow of earrings and necklaces made from whatever she could find. Eventually, she decided to put her talent to good use. After studying design at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology as well as Parson’s School of Design, she spent a few years working as a designer and colorist for the likes of Polo Fashions by Ralph Lauren and Burberry’s of London. Feeling confined and needing new sources of inspiration, she moved to Berlin and worked there during the heady days following Germany’s reunification. Artistic influences from all over Eastern Europe began flooding the city, and Reznik’s Slavic roots began to take hold. Inspired, she created Komushka, a new line of handmade jewelry incorporating boldly, unique color combinations, metals, and stones. From the necklaces, rings, and wrist wear to the earrings and hair accessories, the Komushka image has evolved into an androgynous mix of sterling silver wire, semiprecious stones, and various organic materials. Each piece is as unique and full of personality as the person wearing it. And like the people wearing them, no two items are exactly alike. It is this originality and individuality that gives the Komushka collection its vast appeal. Since then, Reznick has come full circle and is back home doing what it is she has always loved best. . .desinging jewelry.
