Become an Expert Bartender
The Harvard Bartending Course has taught the art of mixology since 1973 and has graduated over 30,000 bartenders in its history.
The course is broken down into two parts, Mixology and T.I.P.S. (Training in Intervention Procedures by Servers of alcohol). Mixology teaches the skills fundamental to tending bar, beginning with lessons in proper drink making technique and concluding with lessons in cash and time management.
The Harvard Bartending Course breaks drinks down into five simple categories - shaken, shots, mixed, frozen, and cocktails. It focuses on teaching proper techniques for each of these categories, not on memorizing every single drink within one. Memorization will come with time, and besides, no bartender in the world knows how to make every single drink.
Now through Citystuff.com Boston you can get the official Harvard Bartending text book and bartending kit. With a little practice, you'll be mixing up killer libations in time for your next swinging cocktail party! |
